Program Objectives
IP telephony uses an integrated infrastructure based on IP protocol to combine the power of the telephone and the computer, allowing for various types of communication (voice, data, images, video) to be manipulated and
transmitted within the same infrastructure.
Corporate telephony is ineluctably migrating to IP telephony (ToIP). Network and telecommunications professionals would do well to anticipate this transformation and update their skills in the domain. This involves an understanding of VoIP, and particularly telephony, as its flux, signals and communications must share the IP network with all the other company applications on the network. It is also important to understand telephony equipment and its functions in order to integrate and administer them.
