The LaSalle College Group Foundation

$144,000 in bursaries for canadian and international students
Montréal, Monday, February 4, 2008 ? The LaSalle College Group announces the creation of the LaSalle College Group Foundation, with the mission of increasing access to courses offered by LaSalle College and Inter-Dec College in Montréal.
Following a process that rendered its technical and vocational courses more accessible in Canada and elsewhere, the LaSalle College Group has launched an eponymous foundation. The mission of the LaSalle College Group Foundation is to foster the acquisition of knowledge in their chosen field for a greater number of students, many of whom — despite their obvious talent — are unable to access the appropriate training, either because it is unavailable in their area or because they simply don't have the financial means to obtain it.
"It's a concrete way to live up to the mission of the LaSalle College Group, which is the transfer of knowledge and expertise to people who want to learn from actual professionals in their fields, and with other young adults who, like themselves, are passionate about their subject and eager to learn more in their chosen domain," explained Jacques A. Lefebvre, president of the LaSalle College Group and its newly minted foundation.
"The LaSalle College Group Foundation will provide bursaries to people who want to continue their studies, irrespective of their age," he continued. "The criteria for awarding these bursaries — which of course will be drawn-up in keeping with the regulations of the ministère de l’Éducation, du Loisir et du Sport du Québec — will be based strictly on the dossiers submitted by each of the candidates to the bursary-selection committee."
LaSalle College offers DSCs, IAs and DVSs in fashion, computer sciences, hotel management, tourism, international management, social sciences and education. Inter-Dec College offers DVSs and ACSs in 2D/3D imaging, design and beauty.
In its first year of activity, the LaSalle College Group Foundation will make available to LaSalle College and Inter-Dec College, seven bursaries totalling $63,000 for seven students who attend any of the campuses in Québec.
This year, the LaSalle College Group Foundation will also be providing $81,000 in bursaries to international students to study at LaSalle College in Montréal.
Application forms for LaSalle College Group Foundation bursaries can be obtained by contacting the LaSalle College Group Foundation at 1400 du Fort Street, suite 9000, Montréal, Québec, Canada H3H 2T1.
